This project involved additions and alterations and site improvements to an existing elementary school in Colchester, CT. The project was constructed while the facility was occupied. DB engineers provided site engineering, local and state permitting, traffic engineering and construction services for this project. Unique aspects of the project included a multiphase construction sequence to permit continued occupancy of the building, the presence of a wetland /watercourse system in close proximity to the building and the need to consider existing facilities and utilities in the design and construction of site improvements.

This project was recognized in the 2007 American School & University Architectural portfolio in the category "Outstanding Buildings: Renovations / Modernization".
