Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) Spotlight

Rich Spielvogel, a Junior in the Computer Aided Drafting and Design program at Grasso Tech, has been working at DiCesare Bentley since October. DiCesare Bentley Engineers is a firm based in Groton, which specializes in engineering, surveying, and planning of major building projects throughout southern New England.

Rich works from 10 AM to 5 PM on his shop cycle. He says that he enjoys working at DiCesare Bentley. "The people are very nice and helpful and I learn something new every day." Rich's mentor Stephen Peck says that he has been impressed by Rich's dependability and eagerness to learn. "We have been showing him a great deal about how engineering and surveying works and he is fast learner," says Peck. Rich says his training at Grasso Tech has helped him a lot in working at DiCesare Bentley. "I use AutoCad everyday here which I learned at Grasso Tech and it has made it a lot easier for me to get used to working here." Rich says that when he graduates he hopes to continue his studies in drafting and
architecture at the university level.
